There has been comparisons to this debated issue for sometime now and very different opinions of the matter.  The answer will vary depending on who it is coming from and what that agenda is.  A stockbroker will always say that stocks are better over the long term.  A real estate agent will always say buy a home.  I offer a slightly different point of view.

First let me disclose to anyone who doesn't know me yet that I was a stockbroker, a professional trader, and potfolio manager for high net worth clientele.  I have been a business owner and currently hold interests in several business enterprises and am a licensed Realtor.  I will also mention everyone has a specific and unique situation and should contact a TEAM of professionals to assist in your financial health.

My answer to investing is simply this..................

DO THEM ALL!

You should keep assests that need liquidity in multiple accounts that invest in stocks, bonds, commodities, and options.  YOU MUST LEARN THE OPTION markets or hire someone that does, if not you are missing out on one of the greatest secrets of Wall Street!

You should either run and operate or have a portion of your funds in small to medium sized business opportunities.  Based on the tax advantages of owning your own business alone, you should consult a professional about this.  Remember your momma and poppa always telling you ..... "If you want to be rich, own your own business"?!

Finally, you should OWN REAL ESTATE for the long term with periodic speculation in select opportunites that arise based on the local cycle of a target market.  The benifits of levereged monies, tax benifits, equity building with tenant occupied homes, and market spreads make this an avenue that must be explored and utilized to experience true wealth in America.

I close in saying that more important than anything said above is the benifit of personal satifaction that comes with taking control of your life.  Being financialy healthly with a supporting TEAM by your side will make you have a more enjoyable life.

Have a great day!
